Olivia and Gerardo said “I do” in Mexico, a destination wedding in Rosarito, to be exact. With deep colors of purple, red and some white, the duo set off for a magical trip and a big celebration.
They selected the El Descanso Mision at their ceremony location – a beautiful church rich in history and a stunning backdrop.
A traditional mass was held to seal the deal.
Olivia’s maids wore long purple bridesmaid dresses appropriate for the church ceremony and certainly fun for the reception!
Then it was off to take some waterfront photos with wedding photographer, Aaron Huniu.
For the reception, the group headed to the nearby Villa Del Paraiso where the celebration kicked into high gear.
When asked about their most memorable moments of the day; Olivia said, “When I walked down the aisle and experienced crazy tunnel vision like in the movies!” While Gerardo said, “When my friend Jorge surprised us with his wedding gift, he sang ‘Hermoso Carino’ a classic mariachi song.”
Dinner was set on the pool deck overlooking the ocean and lit with lots of purple and red lighting.
The newlyweds opted for a sweetheart table for two – and full of flowers!
Their advice for other destination wedding couples? “Enjoy EVERY minute, it really does fly by!” and “Don’t sweat the small stuff, everything will work out in the end.”
At the end of the night, guests enjoyed a mega dessert bar (and coordinating wedding cake). Even a mini bride and groom made an appearance!
After cake cutting and a few cigars, it was off to Belize for an exotic honeymoon and lots of R&R.
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
