Kelly and Carlo wed in Cruz Bay on St. John in the US Virgin Islands. They kicked off their festivities with a rehearsal dinner at Da Livio, perfectly fitting for Carlo and his family. Located in the heart of Cruz Bay, this is where Carlo’s father shared his homemade Italian red wine from the family’s vineyard in Italy. How fun!
But it wasn’t just the Italian restaurant that had special meaning to the couple. They traveled to St. John during their courtship and Kelly had spent her childhood visiting the beautiful island. “Carlo and I first met our freshman year of high school. We were good friends throughout high school and stayed in close touch when we went off to separate colleges – Boston College and Fairfield University. Around junior year of high school, we started to visit each other at Boston and Fairfield and saw each other more often. Upon graduating college, Carlo was working in Connecticut and eventually went off to culinary school in upstate NY. I moved to NYC where I worked at the NYSE and then went to NYU for my MBA. Over the years, we were always in contact and often saw each other at get-togethers with our high school friends. After a few years, Carlo decided to move to San Diego to experience west coast living, while I remained in NYC and began my career with Anthropologie. Although we were on separate coasts, we still were very much in each other’s lives and would see each other when Carlo came back east to visit family. In early 2011 Carlo asked me to visit him in San Diego so off I went and after that point we never looked back!”
“We dated for a year living on separate coasts, but finding time to see each other every month or so. It was a year of great trips for us…Napa, Florida, Southern California Wine Country, St. John…After a year of long distance, Carlo moved back to the east coast and joined me in Philly where I was living and working at Anthropologie’s corporate office. After three months of living with my parents, we got our own apartment and on moving day Carlo painted in pink paint “Will You Marry Me” in big letters in our new bedroom. Considering I’d been going to St John as a child and we had both been there together and it felt like a home away from home, we instantly knew that is where we wanted our wedding to be.”
On the wedding day, the bride-to-be even got ready at her parent’s swanky villa located in Rendezvous Bay.
The ceremony was a traditional Catholic wedding held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church.
From there guests moved to Turtle Point at the Caneel Bay Resort for the reception and rest of the festivities!
The design of the day was of course fitting of an Anthropologie gal, given the bride works for the company!
‘
Shell and orchid napkin treatments flanked the place settings while the sweetheart chairs were dressed to the nines!
Then a beautiful sunset arrived before guests partied the night away and were given bottles of the groom’s homemade Limoncello as parting favors.
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
