This summer season destination wedding took place in a spot a bit better known for its winter sports, but Jared and Carrie’s Snowmass, CO wedding is so sweet and pretty, I don’t think anyone missed the snow! The couple selected this locale after much thought and deliberation. “There were a few reasons we chose Snowmass/Aspen for our wedding weekend. We knew we wanted to do a destination wedding but wanted to have it in a place that held some significance to both of us. And while neither of us are from the area, Jared’s parents were actually engaged in Aspen and Carrie grew up going out there every winter. We both also have a great love of the outdoors and wanted a location that had a lot of different activities from hiking, biking to shopping and even music, for our guests to enjoy.” And enjoy they did! Captured in these beautiful images by our friend Otto Schulze, the day and weekend was full of intimate picture-perfect moments.Carrie described the traditional Jewish ceremony and its location (as well as the timing) as meant to be. ” The ceremony was outside on the lawn of the Snowmass Club and just a few miles away the Aspen/Snowmass Jazz Festival was taking place. All weekend you could hear music from the festival at the resort, and we were nervous that it would be blasting during the ceremony. Well, you could definitely hear music during the ceremony, but amazingly enough the song that was playing was a cover of Bob Marley’s ‘Could you Be Loved.’ It ended up being perfect, we wouldn’t have changed a thing.” From the majestic ceremony site, inward to a tent the guests went to enjoy an evening of elegant but rustic decor and, of course, great food, fun, and music. Given the location, the couple didn’t want to design anything that would compete with the beautiful backdrop and instead opted to bring the outdoors in. ” We wanted to keep it simple and let the amazing backdrop of the mountains speak for itself. Kate Cogdall did a great job with the flowers. She incorporated a lot of the wildflowers which we love, and kept it simple and elegant.” From cowboy hats to rolling hills in the background, this Snowmass wedding was one wonderful weekend for guests and newlyweds alike! Congratulations Carrie and Jared!! We hope you make it back to Snowmass to celebrate many anniversaries in both sunny and ski bunny weather!
