Veronica and Javier wed on the beautiful island of St. John in the US Virgin Islands. The bride shared with us a bit about their big day.
“We had decided that we wanted a tropical and relaxing location. St. John offers great views for pictures and we fell in love with the island while searching online.”
The bride wore a traditional sweetheart wedding gown and lace mantilla veil with a darling flower girl by her side who almost stole the show!
The pair wed on the white sand so groom donned a fitting lightly colored suit for the ceremony.
We asked Veronica what her favorite moment from the day was. “When I saw Javier for the first time waiting for me at the end of the aisle.”
The couple even took some time out of their wedding week to tour the island, with photographer in tow!
The decor was a clean white palette, just as the bride and groom wanted. “We wanted something romantic, elegant, but yet simple at the same time.”
We asked Javier and Veronica what advice they would give future destination couples (like you!) and we got lots of great advice:
“Enjoy every moment and remember that what truly is important is the marriage and union between your sweet heart and you. Try to appreciate every moment and don’t get caught up in minor details. With adequate planning everything can go smoothly, but remember that not every detail may come out EXACTLY as you plan. (I’m a bit of a perfectionist for some things). Invest in a good photographer and videographer because after the moments of the ceremony that is the best memory you are left with. We just celebrated our 1st year anniversary and it was priceless to look at our album and video with family. It is like reliving the moments of that day all over again.”
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
