Sarrah and Eric selected Las Vegas for their destination wedding, at the sprawling Bear’s Best Golf Club. The couple wed off the strip on July 23rd in front of friends and family, at what they call, their second home. “We wanted to show our friends and family from Virginia a different side of Vegas – gorgeous views of the desert and the beautiful mountains that surround it.” Venue, view and atmosphere were keys in selecting their ceremony spot and décor. While they wanted it to feel like Vegas in color, they opted for a slightly more sophisticated reception than perhaps the stereotype of Las Vegas weddings. The vibrant purple paired with the all the green details fit perfectly atop the golf course backdrop. Parasols were on hand during the ceremony to keep guests shaded. Sarrah and Eric also created fans to act as programs to ward off the heat and attached golf pencils to them to honor Eric’s family’s love of golf. In order to personalize the experience for the guests even more, Sarrah chose to make several of the wedding elements herself. To weave in the purple and green further, the couple selected a tree of escort cards, similar to a wishing tree. And of course their initials played a role in their reception details! The sweet and simple centerpieces incorporated a variety of shades of purples, white, and greens, with vases filled with a mixture of green apples, leaves and other color coordinating goodies. For dessert the couple selected a traditional white wedding cake with a delicate flower detail and a light lavender band around each tier. Then to show off their silly side, Sarrah and Eric added in a candy bar! “Eric and I both love to laugh so we wanted to add a bit of humor, so we gave each candy outrageous names.” Sarrah explained to us.
“We knew having a destination wedding in Las Vegas was taking a gamble, but we definitely hit the jack pot!” – Sarrah & Eric.
