Tiffany and Derek met on a blind date – one that ended quite well as they are joining us today to share their beautiful destination wedding! One common love they shared was the love of both adventure and travel, so a destination wedding was the obvious choice. The adventuresome couple got engaged in Breckenridge,Colorado – while they were snow mobiling, talk about an adventure (and quite a change in weather from their tropical destination wedding)! The bride and groom chose to wed in Puntarenas, Costa Rica – a country they fell in love with after friends got married there. Tiffany shared with us, “We went back again by ourselves and knew we wanted our families to experience this amazing place.”
To bring their dream to reality, they enlisted the help of Tropical Occasions to produce the event. Owner Aimee Monihan gave us an inside look at the experience. “Tiffany knew she wanted a wedding that had ‘tropical elegance – a luxurious tropical feeling event with a dash of bling.’ She wanted a wedding that was classy, with a backdrop that celebrated Mother Nature, so they chose the gorgeous rain forest beach town of Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Tiffany and Derek’s biggest wish was however that the event be FUN.”
“Tiffany has a love for bling, so it was used throughout the entire design, but not overdone. Our favorite bling was her oh so fabulous Jimmy Choo shoes and the great bling wrap on her bridal bouquet.”
“Orchids became a central theme as well throughout design, for both floral and stationary. A beautiful palate of fuchsia and white Phalenopsis & Dendrobiums orchids were the focal of the floral design. While accents of butter yellow, white and the sparkle were used in linens, décor and stationary. All this made for a stunning design that Tiffany described as her vision perfectly brought to life.”
What a beautiful ceremony site! They certainly achieved the feeling of being the beauty of nature with a little sparkle added to it.
Then it was time for dinner, complete with a glitter clad sign for the sweetheart chairs.
This couple certainly found fun places to weave in their fun – we love these drink flags with words like “Whoopie!” on them for their tropical cocktails.
“The fun time for guests came into play with a fun interactive photo booth, ribbon sticks to dance with and fun props to wear throughout the party. Based on the dancing and hysterical photo booth photos, the mission was well accomplished and a classy fun event for was had by all in the jungle of Costa Rica!” Confetti was just the beginning of it all…
