We love, love, love the city of Rome so it delights my day to see a wedding from our friend, wedding photographer Rochelle Cheever who lives in this wonderful place! Today’s wedding is a very intimate one – an elopement just for two!
Chad and Penny selected this special site because of the mix of romance and history perfect for the two of them. “We had always talked about eloping and having our day be as personal and intimate as possible. For us Italy, Rome in particular, was the perfect mix of romance and history bustling with urban charm. The one place in the world where we felt that even dressed in our formal wedding attire surrounded by the fast pace of Rome, we could feel like it was just the two of us.” For the ceremony? The historic and stunning Complesso Vignola Mattei.
“Chad and I talk regularly about our favorite memories of our wedding day. We recall with such fondness the photography adventure with Rochelle. Her vast knowledge of Rome, made for not only a wedding photo shoot but an impromptu tour of Rome and its history. We continue to be in awe of her work and are so thankful each and every time we look at her amazing photos that she was a part of our day.”
As for the bride’s tips to future destination couples? “If I could give future destination brides any advice it would be to do your research. I spent hours and hours online and corresponding through emails to first fully understand the marriage process in Italy. Once I felt confident I started my vendor research. I contacted multiple references for my various vendors until I felt certain that I could trust these individuals to help make my day perfect. Planning a wedding from so far away can feel like a total leap of faith, which can be unnerving at the best of times. All of my vendors were truly amazing and every detail was taken care of.”
“And who couldn’t mention our wedding dinner. The city views from Imago, the Michelin Star restaurant in the Hotel Hassler coupled with the most amazing dining experience of our lives made for the perfect ending to an already unbeatable day.”
