Today we’re showing you a swanky property perfect for a destination wedding in Florida, or better yet, a bachelorette weekend in Miami! Enter the Mondrian South Beach. If you’ve ever been, there’s a chance it had a familiar feeling to it. That’s because the design was actually inspired by Sleeping Beauty’s Castle! What could be a more perfect place for a fairy tale wedding than that?!
The Mondrian South Beach was designed by Marcel Wanders, a Dutch architectural designer, who created a look that’s a modern interpretation on the castle. The property is surrounded by tall hedges a la historic European site, and he added whimsical touches like a dramatic black staircase that almost mimics the look of lace! The hotel is dressed with oversized bell-shaped candelabras, and the stark white and black (with pops of gold) contrast to the décor gives it a very modern vibe that meets the romance and femininity of the castle inspiration.
If you’re considering a destination wedding at Mondrian South Beach, it’s perfect for about 70 guests, though if your group is larger, they can get creative to design the day around your size. You can wed by the pool in a special lounge area overlooking the waters or opt for inside in the restaurant, La Savina, or the Sunset Lounge too. But my favorite has to be the lush North Kissing Garden, even appropriately named for the occasion!
The property isn’t huge, just 209 rooms and suites, perfect for a domestic destination wedding with no passport required so just enough loved ones can attend. And if you and your guy or gal pals are looking for a hip place to call home during your bachelor or bachelorette weekend, this spot in Miami just might be perfect for you. Close to the nightlife scene, right on the water, and a scene all its own, Mondrian South Beach is ideal to celebrate your last single nights!
