Melissa and Will said I do – just the two of them in Barcelona, Spain where they touched down for an intimate elopement in a very unique location. Wedding planner, Laura from Marry Me in Spain shared a bit about this very special venue. “Melissa and Will got married in Bellesguards an exclusive house built by Gaudí in-between 1900 and 1909, being one of his most personal, symbolic and fascinating works. They chose this emblematic place to perfectly represent what Barcelona is. The couple wanted a Gaudí wedding, full of architecture, history and meaning, and they were the first ones getting married in this beautiful place, nobody had been getting married there before.”
We asked Melissa to share her experience in planning such a special locale and event. “We decided to elope because we wanted to have a small blessing ceremony in Barcelona (city that we just love), just the two of us, the priest and the photographer. We wanted a ceremony very intimate but romantic with a Gaudi background.”
“We decided to get married in that place in July, when we contacted Carole (our wedding planner), and she proposed us to have the shooting in the Parc Güell and the ceremony in Bellesguards. When we saw the pictures, we knew it was the perfect place for us.”
“Our favorite moment of the day was the shooting in the Parc Güell. The park was empty, because we went there just at the opening at 8:30 am. We could enjoy the views of the park without all the tourists and the crowd. Only peace, relax and a beautiful architecture we could enjoy alone.”
