Today’s wedding ideas don’t come from a real wedding, but a beautiful inspiration shoot in Hawaii, brought to us by Melany Coyne of Golden Light Weddings & Events. These beautiful purple and gold destination wedding ideas came to life with all the sparkle and celebration one would expect when saying I do on the Big Island! And Melany shared with us their story and inspiration for the big day. “The King’s Knoll at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott provided the main inspiration for this shoot. Located on the north west side of the Big Island of Hawaii overlooking the fish ponds at Anaeho’omalu bay. The Ali’i, Hawaiian royals, built the ponds to raise fish for themselves and their families. Along the path to King’s Knoll you will see ancient stone-walled structures.”
“With this location and the theme ‘plum + gold, royal elegance’ in mind I contacted some incredibly talented and creative vendors on Hawaii for assistance bringing the dream to reality. Hannah and John at Hawaii Island Events can make anything, the tables and arch were created at their Kona workshop. They also provided all of the luxurious fabrics and elegant table settings. Erin at Passionflowers by Nalani designed all of our florals including that gorgeous floral sash with jasmine vine, braided plumosus, dendrobium orchids, and lisianthus for our Polynesian princess bride.”

“The Big Island is well known for its coffee, most coffee lovers have heard of Kona coffee and know of its richness and bold flavor. I created the favors with local Kona coffee for guests to take a piece of island paradise home. Bradley & Lily created the elegant and timeless letterpress stationary and menus.”
