Pastel Key West Dockside Destination Wedding

Ruth and Ronald celebrated their destination wedding on a dock in Key West, where they peppered the party with beautiful pastel mint colors and oodles of shells and starfish!  The couple’s photographer, Mike B shared their big day story with us.  “After meeting in Ocean City, it could only be fate that brought both Ruth and Ronald to Miami one year later. Although they didn’t talk much over that first year, Ronald had an idea that she was something special, so he took it upon himself to invite her and her friend out while in Miami – and the rest was history! At least, until one Christmas Eve, when Ronald got down on one knee in front of both of their families and close friends…”

“From there, the couple decided to take their wedding on the road and get hitched amidst the sandy shores and palm trees of beautiful Key West. Ruth and Ronald’s wedding locale provided direction to their overall wedding inspiration and they decided to follow a casual, yet chic vibe. Beach-y elements accented their big day, from lush mint details to handmade starfish escort cards.”

“Initially, the pair planned to be traditional and opt out of the ‘first look’ that has become popular among couples. However, as their photographer suggested it, they changed their mind and are entirely grateful that they did. “Not only did it give us one-on-one personal time before the wedding,” share the couple, who cited the first look as one of the favorite memories of the day. “We were able to calm our nerves and capture some amazing photos together – just the two of us.”

“Planning a destination wedding isn’t always easy, but Ruth and Ronald ensure that it is completely worth it. “Take on one task at a time and use a schedule to plan everything,” they encourage. “It can get overwhelming at times, but when it does, take a moment to remember the purpose of the day – celebrating your love for one another!” She also adds to enjoy every moment – “it will go by so quickly!”
