Carolyn and Rick hosted their destination wedding at the oceanfront Islamorada Ocean Oasis beach house in Florida. And, while they were all about enjoying a tropical vibe, they got a little more than they bargained for when Tropical Storm Alberto threatened to make an appearance! But come rain, shine (or wind!), this classic, colorful beach wedding in the Florida Keys went ahead and was as lovely as could be. It even included the cutest four-legged dog-of-honor! The couple’s photographer, Morgan O’Neil, shared some of the behind the scenes details with us.
Carolyn and Rick’s stunning destination wedding took place at the Islamorada Beach House on Memorial Day. Tropical storm Alberto threatened all weekend long, and Carolyn was forced to cancel most of the pre-wedding activities she had planned for the group, but amazingly there was a break in the storm for almost the entire wedding day.
Rick and his groomsmen got ready at the beach house, while Carolyn and her maids got ready at Amara Cay Resort down the street. Her French bulldog, Louise, wore an adorable flower collar and helped her get ready.
The couple had an incredible first look at the end of a boardwalk at Amara Cay despite the crazy tropical storm winds, followed by portraits at the resort. Then they were married in an intimate ceremony on the beach back at the Islamorada Beach House, followed by toasts, dinner, and dancing under a tent.
Love the subtle beachy touches on the tables, including driftwood, small shells, and pieces of coral. Perfect for a destination wedding in the Florida Keys!
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
