Sandy and Wah opted for an Italian destination wedding, traveling from their home in England to the isle of Capri to say their “I do”s! They enjoyed incredible ocean views for their ceremony and reception at the Beach Club Il Riccio, and complemented the crisp whites and natural textures of the venue with touches of romantic blush and mercury glass. This gorgeous couple also enjoyed a photo session at the magical Villa San Michele, which enjoys panoramic views of the island and Mount Vesuvius beyond. The couple’s wedding planner, Italian Event Planners, shared the couple’s wedding day vision with us.
Sandy and Wah chose the unique il Riccio Beach Club in Capri island as the setting for their wedding. For the ceremony overlooking the sea, the decoration was very simple, since the couple didn’t want to alter the natural beauty of the venue. They chose a wooden square arch adorned with soft, pale pink fabric (to match the colour of the bridemaids’ dresses). For the reception, the decor included a waterfall of orchids suspended above the main table. The guests’ tables were decorated with centerpieces of gold branches and hanging crystals, and on both sides were dozens and dozens of candles, giving a magic atmosphere to the whole room!
This wedding was so elegant and stylish, but there was no lack of emotion – one needs only to have a look at the happiness in the photos of the cake cutting! The newlyweds decorated their wedding cake themselves and it was such a lovely moment.
The Villa San Michele, where the couple had their photo shoot, has a fascinating history. It was built in the 19th century by Swedish physician, Axel Munthe, who later wrote a memoir about his experience. It includes spectacular gardens, which are adorned with classical relics from Egypt and Greece, and make for a wonderful photographic backdrop for an Italian destination wedding in Capri. The couple also had pictures taken in the Capri harbor.
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
