Today we’re driving out to the desert for this fabulously original destination wedding at The Parker Palm Springs, produced by the creative talents of Sterling Engagements. Brandi and Ede selected this unique spot because it fit their artistic personalities. We spoke to their wedding planner, Alexandra Rembac who shared with us the behind the scenes details of this big day. “Brandie and Ede are the real deal when it comes to an artistic couple. They are full of life, with big personalities and both beyond talented. Brandie is a dancer and Ede a graphic designer. When they began planning their colorful destination wedding in Palm Springs, The Parker was the perfect fit. Extremely colorful with incredible designs, they both knew the incredible architecture in The Gene Autry would make the perfect backdrop for their day.”
Pink and white was the palette of this pretty day, held in the famed home on property. What fabulous bridal party style! And we didn’t think anything could compete with this couple’s shoe selection! The ceremony took place on the lawn of the property and was fairly traditional, considering much of the decor was not! These fab photos by EP Love Photography really show the fun loving spirit of the happy couple. And of course the grounds of The Parker give adventurous duos lots of options to play! From outdoors to in – they headed to the vibrant lobby for more photos! And then the reception and the reception decor. Oh the decor! Alexandra told us, “For their escort card display, Brandie paid homage to the windmills in Palm Springs by making pinwheels for each guest. Everyone loved getting their pinwheel, bringing them to the tables and this even added an extra flare of color to the tablescapes.”The details didn’t stop there! “Brandie was a huge DIY bride when it came to her design. She hand sewed each bouquet as well as all the runners for each table.” But before guests entered the reception, a swanky outdoor cocktail lounge awaited them to enjoy the wonderful weather.“Since Ede is a designer all of their paper goods were custom made just for their day. Also being a photographer, he was able to setup a DIY photo booth with handmade props too. Guests had a blast taking photos all night long and following the wedding, they were uploaded to a site for them to download.” And of course, as the night went on, the gifted and color-coordinated flip flops came in handy, whether on the dance floor or in that photo booth!“In lieu of flowers, Brandie wanted to focus on fun, quirky and modern white items. She began collecting statutes like Owls, birds, Eiffel Towers, birdhouses and more. The intent was to find white pieces that were fun and would make you smile. We used white linens on the tables, along with her hand sewn runners, topping them with all of the white pieces, paper poms, more sewn flowers and candles. It was so unique and whimsical!”Then came the sweets and treats! “Brandie is vegan also, so a special aspect of the wedding was serving her guests a gourmet vegan meal too. Everything down to the raw carrot cake and flavored cupcakes embraced her lifestyle and guests really enjoyed the experience.”And for even more funky fabulous fun from Brandie and Ede’s wedding, check out this highlight film from New Classic Films.
