Jeorjina and Michael landed on beautiful Seven Mile Beach for their Cayman Islands destination wedding. With sixty of their closest friends and family, they traveled from Washington DC to touch down in paradise for a week of festivities. We asked the couple what made them pick this place for their big day? “It was important to us to have a memorable location for our wedding and the opportunity to spend time with our guests beyond the day-of-activities. Our wedding was a perfect excuse to invite our family and friends on a mini-vacation with us. Grand Cayman’s beautiful beaches, several accommodation choices, and friendly residents made the choice easy for us.
We visited Grand Cayman a year before our wedding and were immediately sold when we figured out a way to have our wedding at Luca and Caribbean Club. The staff was tremendous and the reviews we received were exceptional. About half our wedding party stayed in the condos that week and everyone continued to rave about the Caribbean Club all week long, and to this day!”
The palette the couple picked was one of dark blues, light pinks and white – all that blended nicely with the beautiful backdrop of the ocean. With a chevron pattern in play and lots of destination details, guests knew from the moment they touched down that this would be a special week of celebrations!
On the wedding day, guests were welcomed to remove their shoes before the ceremony on the sand.
And mini beach balls awaited them to shower the bride and groom after the “I do.” Love this idea!!
We asked Jeorjina about the many memorable moments that day. For her? Walking down the aisle…”Seeing all of our loved ones gathered at the ceremony for the first time. (I cried the whole way down the aisle!) We know destination weddings can be more difficult logistically in terms of time and expense. It really meant a lot to us both that they traveled to Grand Cayman to share that moment with us.”
That love was felt by all. Wedding planner Meg Paterson of Octopus Events said, “There was just so much love between the two of them all day. Jeorjina is so beautiful anyway but she just glowed and Mike looked as though he could pinch himself to check that it was really happening.”
The couple kept the ceremony decor simple to let the landscape speak for itself. But beautiful white florals adorned with starfish marked the spot they said “I do.”
Then – the beach ball toss!
After the ceremony, photographer Aaron Rebarchek took the couple out and about to capture a few fabulous photos.
Then dinner and dancing at Luca commenced.
Meg filled us in on the couple’s personal details at the reception. “The fusion of Panamanian, Greek and American heritage was acknowledged with a table of family photographs going back four generations.”
“At each guests place the Bride’s mother had placed a bag of 5 Jordanian almonds representing Health, Wealth, Happiness, Fertility, and Longevity which was a lovely touch and was a tradition passed down in her Greek family.”
Then a calla lily cake awaited the couple before they jetted off to Italy for their honeymoon!
