Alex and Melanie eloped in Portugal with their darling baby girl Josie by their side. With just a few people to witness the special occasion, they took wedding photographers, Matt and Lena with them who told us about the intimate event. “Alex and Melanie live in Germany, they love to travel it has always been something they were passionate about. They imagined a simple beach elopement and the Algarve with it’s amazing coast line, blue water contrasting the grand orange cliffs, creating small intimate coves along the shore was the perfect place.”
“They decorated or “pimped out the pram” in Alex’s words, themselves. Their little daughter Josephine was the only guest at their wedding. The flowers were made at Casa Galo Verde, by the owner. The umbrellas and confetti and the paper lanterns were all picked out by them to design the wedding look they wanted.”
“They wanted to spend the day celebrating. They said that they had to get married in the early morning because they just wouldn’t be able to stand the anticipation of waiting to say “ I do” and they wanted to celebrate the whole day as newly wed husband and wife and not a minute less. So they had a sun rise ceremony on a beautiful small beach.”
“During our photo shoot we incorporated the confetti which ended up all over the little village street in Ferragudo. Alex didn’t want to leave it like that and so he borrowed a broom from a woman watching us from her doorway to sweep the confetti off the street. Apparently this is also reminiscent of an old Bavarian wedding tradition where the groom would have to sweep the streets until his bride came to kiss him.”
“A quick stop at a small bakery shop completed their evening picnic on the beach including a traditional Portuguese pastry as a symbolic wedding cake. They spent the evening cuddling, drinking champagne and enjoying the moonlight.”
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
