Erin and Shaun tied the knot on Sept. 18, 2011 at the breathtaking Hatley Castle in British Columbia, Canada. Erin, quite the creative bride, knew just what she wanted for the big day. A mixture of “Anthropologie, vintage, whimsical, and elegant” was on the menu, according to wedding planners Candeo Weddings. And that’s exactly what the couple got! A beautiful garden ceremony with sweet vintage details and a reception on the castle terrace reminiscent of an old world wedding. The palette was a collection of pale pinks and blues with the men wearing shades of grey – nothing too overstated to take away from the dramatic ceremony and reception backdrop. The garden area was the perfect setting for these idyllic nuptials and even a few fun and games after the “I do’s.” Luckily the weather held up for couple and their guests just long enough to get through the day dry!I love a couple who has fun together in the ceremony! These two look like they won’t be short of laughs together this lifetime! The castle is located on Vancouver Island, creating a lovely water backdrop for the couple’s portraits after the ceremony. Then the fun and games began! Croquet was quite popular among the guests. To keep with the vintage spirit of the event, the flowers were arranged in a mixture of vintage teacups and glassware, so no two were alike. Placed atop lace accents, linens and accessories, the heavy glass was a wonderful contrast to the rest of the tabletop.Vintage frames, chalkboard text, and clothes line love notes kept the guests looking from place to place for what could be next. A very layered and rich way to set the reception mood. For favors, Erin and Shaun opted for a candy bar (of her favorite sweets) and some Kraft Mac & Cheese (Shaun’s bachelor snack of choice). And of course, at nightfall came, one more glamorous shot under the stars to end this magical event. Congratulations Erin and Shaun!
