A Colorful Destination Wedding in Malaga, Spain

Teresa and Todd traveled all the way to Malaga, Spain for their fun and festive destination wedding!  Set to the backdrop of the Mijas Mountains, this beautiful wedding was complete with laughter, love, and a lovely orange inspired wedding cake too!  The couple, who met in Hoboken, New Jersey call themselves “nerds” and as such, exchanged chemical formulas on a bar napkin before falling in love and eventually exchanging vows.

Todd and Teresa have a shared love of Seville, Spain where Todd taught English and Teresa attended the University of Sevilla during a semester abroad. Both fell in love with the city and the culture, and Teresa in particular with the Flamenco.  The exotic dance was even woven into their wedding theme!

Orange was the focal color for the day.  The bride carried a bright beautiful bouquet while her maids carried orange fans with blue lace to pay homage to their Spanish location.

After the ceremony, the reception was set for the intimate crowd around a beautiful pool and garden.

Since Todd is a teacher who focuses on protecting the environment, it was important to them to use natural elements in their wedding.  The tables had burlap runners and they incorporated wooden circular tree rings in their design.

We love all these natural elements and the fresh fruit that adorned the table!  What a great idea (and festive too)!

And what wedding would be complete without a perfectly themed cake to match?!?!  Too cute!

As one of the gifts, guests were given old classic Hemingway books that they found for each traveler.

Favorite memories for the couple? “A friend playing the flamenco guitar during the wedding ceremony and a flamenco show during the reception, along with the speeches that Teresa’s best friend and Todd’s best man made. They were straight from the heart and incredibly touching.”
