Zosia and Yong Guck held their Iceland destination wedding at a waterfall in Vik, followed by an indoor reception at Iceland Air Hotels.
The couple wanted a stunning ceremony site outdoors and a little adventure in their plans. The newlyweds shared their special story with us…
We knew we wanted to get married somewhere super special and outdoors in a stunning natural setting – Iceland ticked all the boxes! Iceland Wedding Planner’s private locations are absolutely jaw dropping, we’ll never forget turning the corner as we came to our ceremony location and the collective gasp of our small wedding group.
Everyone we spoke to thought it would be difficult organizing an overseas wedding, especially when the location is pretty much the other side of the world. With the Iceland Wedding Planner team though it was a dream – all the options and decisions required were laid out for us. Choosing our specific wedding locations for the day was the hardest but most enjoyable part!
We asked the couple what their favorite moment from their Iceland destination wedding was:
It’s so hard to choose just one! Visiting the sub-glacial volcano with the beautiful white snow contrasting against the black sand was unbelievable. To top off there was an ice cave we visited with the most stunning aqua blue ice.
And advice for other destination wedding couples?
Do it! If you want something a little bit different and an adventure day that you’ll never forget, Iceland might just be the place for you too.
After their Iceland destination wedding at a waterfall and their beautiful indoor reception was done, the bride and groom continued their adventure on a honeymoon as unique as the two of them!
To continue the offbeat adventure theme, we traveled to Svalbard! An archipelago of Norwegian islands in the high Arctic, we want on a three day camping and snow-mobile trip out to see seals, icebergs, sea ice and best of all polar bears including a mum and her two cubs! The “honeymoon suite” was actually a tent on top of a frozen glacial shared with ten other people, together with them we took turns doing polar bear watch during the night.
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
