Today’s event is actually a photo shoot, with the fairy tale Snow White inspiring the décor! Ideal for a winter wedding or one high up in the mountains, this shoot may just be what your destination wedding in the woods needs!
We asked the coordinator and stylist of the shoot, Theresa from Diamonds X Dreams, to share her vision and all the work this wonderful team created. If you know us, you know we are big Disney fans over here at Jet Fete, so we just couldn’t get enough of this dreamy big day idea!
“Vintage elegance and Disney’s Snow White inspired creative shoot with a touch of rustic. From glass apples to gorgeous lattice topped pies, vintage brass plates and a lot of animal pieces, I wanted to capture a wintry and forest setting as if Snow White was actually the bride but with some vintage elegance as this fairy tale was filmed in the 1930’s and told in the 1800’s.”
“Queensberry Flower Company brought my vision to life when I asked for the bridal bouquet to be romantic, wintry with earthy elements. The bridal bouquet is made up of beautiful white roses, orchids, eucalyptus leaves and dusty millers. Cotton and pine cones were added to achieve the wintry but earthy look for the florals. Babys breathe in Eiffel vases sat as centrepieces with a bigger winter floral arrangement similar to the bridal bouquet.”
“Snow White as appeared in the film has a very Tudor era dress. We wanted to achieve the Tudor look but very modern. My model is wearing a strapless sweetheart shirred bodice dress with a very subtle ball gown and semi cathedral train by Alfred Angelo for the first look. With the strapless gown, we left her hair down in a deep side part with loose curls and a hair clip from Bridal Classics to accent the side part.
For the second look, Mariah is wearing a gown of soft lace, crystal beading and flowers with romantic cap sleeves to accentuate Snow White’s sweet, pure and innocent look with a chapel train also by Alfred Angelo. For this look, to show off the romantic cap sleeves, we put her hair up in a loose side chignon bun and accented the bun with the same hair clip from Bridal Classics.”
“This shoot was taken place at Queen Elizabeth park in Vancouver. We were surrounded by tall evergreen trees and ferns as it gave off a very forestry setting with the sunlight peeping through. I wanted to set the guest table as well as the sweets/cake table in a forestry setting to incorporate Snow White’s love for nature and animals and how I envisioned for her guest tables to look like with an elegant twist.”
“Eucalyptus leaves covered vineyard chairs are used for seating as they balance out all of the vintage silver and white decor and adds a little bit of earthiness as well as caters to the forestry setting. A vintage white chandelier is hung from a tree to complete the overall vintage and romantic look of this guest table.”
“We’ve used a French side table to display our sweets and Snow White wedding cake. The table consists of beautifully lattice topped pies for Snow White’s love of pie, white macarons from Fauberg Paris, candy apples rolled in coconut flakes, and winter inspired sugar cookies made by Sugar Vancouver. We decorated the table with a lot of silver brass plates and added animals to this display including some porcelain birds and a white deer. Little details such as a pie fork and vintage server tongs are also added to this display. The silver candlesticks with white balls of Pearl had the sunlight shine through and added a wintry look to the table as well as a magical glow. A white bird cage with a floral arrangement inside is placed beside the dessert table to exaggerate Snow White’s love for animals.”
“At the centre attention, the three tier vintage winter inspired cake sits on a unique silver square cake stand. The cake consists of 3 layers with a silver fondant layer, white sugar flowers and branches and splashes of red berries. In the middle tier, a white moulded frame is placed to represent the mirror from the film.”
