Wedding Shoe Check

When saying “I do” to a beach wedding, you’ll want to have a plan B for your guests’ shoes.  Walking on the sand in heels and dress shoes is no walk in the park, so prepare in advance and create a fun and decor-friendly shoe check!  Ask your planner or decor company to stage a rack, shelf, or baskets by a decorative sign to alert guests that they are welcome to walk barefoot to the ceremony.  You can provide loved ones with a flip flop alternative or just let them go toes to sand.  Whichever you decide, use this opportunity to further theme your decor to your environment!

Now if after the ceremony you and your guests will be headed to a more formal setting or reception, then those fabulous strappy shoes will likely need to go back on.  Check with your venue to see if there is a place for guests to wash off their feet before getting back into their shoes – and if not, consider a fancy foot wash station!  From towels to wipe off their toes to shoe bags to store their favorite pair in, get creative with this essential idea and budget permitting, get pampering too!
