Kaileigh and Kyle held their destination wedding at the beautiful Hope Town Harbor Lodge on a private island in The Bahamas. The couple had a special place in their hearts for the location, a destination that the bride had been going to most of her life. Kaileigh shared the story of their big day with us.
My family has a house in the Abacos and I’ve grown up going there. My favorite place in the whole world to hang out is where we had the reception – I even took swimming lessons there when I was a child! Kyle visited a few times with me while we were dating. He instantly wanted to move there and open a coconut stand. It was safe to say he agreed with the location.
We asked the bride about her favorite moments from the day:
When I saw Kyle’s face walking in the ceremony.
Getting ready with my friends, mom & Ky’e mom.
Seeing my dad walk in while we were getting ready in his seersucker suit and pink sailboat tie.
Surprising the guests with the fireworks.
And of course, when everyone jumped in the pool!
We both went to/met at the University of Alabama, hence the red & white shakers.
I wanted everything to look elegant with subtle beach elements. I picked blush, gold and white to offset the beach scenery (instead of selecting a turquoise or coral). We wanted to make it as personal as possibly and spent a lot of time with the details such as the welcome baskets, table names, Bahamian bread favors, the napkins, etc. My goal was for people to look at things and know that they were related to Kyle and I.
And an update on the events that night…
The guy doing the olympic-like backflip into the pool is ok.
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
