Anna and Dino live in New York but decided to travel all the way to Rhodes, Greece for their destination wedding surrounded by friends and family. The beautiful big day took place at St. Paul’s chapel followed by a reception nearby at Tambakio restaurant. Not only did this couple get adventurous in their location selection but in their fashion too. We love that the bride wore red! Wow what a stunning standout way to walk down the aisle!
The two lovebirds shared the story of how their Greece destination wedding came to be.
The starting point of Anna & Dino’s destination wedding story was a romantic moment watching the magic sunset in amazing Santorini, when Dino proposed to Anna; a dreamy vacation from New York to Greece, where Dino comes from.
While searching their Greek destination, they came across Lindos area in Rhodes, and that was the sign; since the beginning of their relationship they called each other “Linda” because of funny video on internet of a little boy complaining to his mother – Linda – about not letting him eat cupcakes (the favorite dessert of Dino’s). That’s how Lindos St. Paul’s bay with its beautiful chapel and the restaurant on the beach became the venues.
Dinos’ Greek background was the inspiration behind the selection of the main element of the wedding – olive leaves and branches, and the added palette colors came up from Anna’s stunning bridal dress, this unique deep red Vera Wang creation. The bridal dress was the first thing Anna had chosen for her wedding as it was love at first sight on her gown scouting.
Bridesmaids helped on creating the wedding fans while spending funny moments on the poolside, during the pre-wedding days.
We asked the bride and groom about their favorite moment from the experience:
Our wedding ceremony. It was based on our personal love story, and our best friend was the officiant. We shared theses precious moment with our most beloved people. It was an unforgettable experience full of laughter and happy tears – something we all will treasure forever!
In all decoration aspects, from the printings to table decoration, olive branches were incorporated with blush pink flowers. Lots of candles were used to highlight the magic feeling of the night and sparkles sent off to escort Mr & Mrs’ first dance.
Anna’s idea was to use many Greek touches so to add an emotional feeling for Dino’s family. Just like on traditional Greek weddings, the bride arrived to the chapel escorted by the music of 2 traditional instruments, lyre and accordion. Cones with rice and golden olive leaves were given to all the guests to throw at the end of the ceremony. Throwing of rice has a special meaning in Greek weddings as it symbolizes good luck for a strong relationship. A candy table was welcoming guests on the reception entrance, offering local sweets used in Greece to celebrate the union of the newlyweds. The highlight of the night was the starting of the wedding party; DJ mixed the slow first dance song with the traditional Zorbas the Greek song! A crazy dance when we made all guests join with us and proceed to an unforgettable wedding night!
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
