Holiday weekends are often the ideal choice for destination weddings. Guests already have time off, and you have double the reason to celebrate! Mika and Mike invited their friends and family to do just that when they wed over July 4th weekend in the always entertaining location of Key West, Florida. With a jam-packed weekend of bachelor and bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinner, Fourth of July festivities and of course a wedding, there was never a dull moment to be had and Mimi Teller Photography captured it all!
Did this couple not get the most beautiful day for the oceanfront ceremony? With a location like Key West’s beach, you don’t need much decor to make it wow-worthy, so they stuck to a simple white palette with festive torches lining the aisle. And, how adorable are those flower girls with their pails-turned-flower-girl-baskets?
Mika and Mike chose Key West’s The Southernmost Beach Resort to take full advantage of their Floridian destination and those ocean views. From Mika, “We entertained several venues in Key West, but we chose Southernmost Resort because it fit us the best. It was beautiful, fun, laidback, and right on the water.” Post-nuptials they strolled the dock for some stunning waterfront portraits.
Guests didn’t have to go far for the reception’s festivities, as a tent was set up and dance floor laid out right there on the sand. We love when couples embrace their surrounds and keep the decor simple as to not distract from it, just as Mika and Mike did. Guests danced the night away as the sun set and cooled down with cute customized water bottles, a great idea for a wedding in the Florida heat!
To ring in the Fourth of July, what better a getaway then one with sparklers? Luckily the festivities didn’t end there as the couple treated their guests to a day-after July 4th fireworks cruise to end the celebratory weekend!
