Javier and Aidee held their intimate destination wedding in beautiful Tuscany – both in and outside of Florence. The ceremony was held at Santa Maria a Vicchiomaggio, a church that dates back to 1400. Their wedding planner, Cindy Salgado Wedding Design & Events shared with us how the location came to be for this lovely couple. “Javier and Aidee choose Tuscany because of its splendid scenarios, romance, art, culture and food. Even though they had never been in Tuscany before, they already knew that Florence was the perfect backdrop for their big day. At the beginning they wanted to organized everything in the centre of Florence, also known as the jewel of the Renaissance, but then, I show them the amazing country side of Tuscany and they felt in love with it as well. After thinking of what to do, they decided to have both scenarios, so we did the religious ceremony in a very secluded and charming church immerse in the vineyards and olive trees in the Chianti area, and the wedding reception in the heart of Florence, just in front of Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza della Signoria.”
“The theme that they choose was a rustic/chic with blue, yellow and white touches. Aidee choose blue navy and yellow with some touches of white. Because a part of her wedding was in the countryside of Tuscany, we propose a rustic style, and the results were just lovely and matched perfectly with the magnificent backdrop.”
“My recommendation will be that since the castle is in a hill, for sure you’ll need a car to move. Public transport does not arrive to the castle.”
“Javier and Aidee are a Mexican couple that lives in the United States. When they first contacted me, they told me that they had never been in Florence before, but they wanted to get married here and that the most important thing from them was the religious ceremony. They really wanted to incorporate the Mexican Catholic ceremony. So after searching, I proposed Castello di Vicchiomaggio, which is a lovely castle nested in a beautiful hill in the countryside of the Chianti Area. It’s surrounded by an amazing landscape full of vineyards and olive trees.”
“One of my favourite parts was at the religious ceremony. There was this one particular song that Aidee loves and wanted to give a surprise to Javier. Our amazing musicians, adapted Brad’s Paisley song “Then” to the violin and harp, so when Aidee made her big entrance, the musicians started to play the couple’s song.”
“After the ceremony, they went to the centre of Florence where they walk on the streets and visit some of the most beautiful monuments. Then, they arrive to the Circus restaurant, which is located in Piazza della Signoria and enjoy the amazing dinner and the lovely view. All this beautiful moments where capture by Alessandro Ghedina.”
“We try to keep everything as natural as possible, so that the couple have that intimate/familiar feel that they were looking for.”
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
