I have a longtime love affair with Italy (from when I studied in Rome in college, to the pasta and vino obsession I can’t seem to kick). But I think one of my absolute favorite Italian ideas is a wedding in a property from ancient times. Rome is a city with buildings built upon buildings from its past and many of the Italian countryside villas are working homes in the framework of historic homes. The depth and life that you feel and see at these venues inspire some pretty incredible wedding details and imagery. So if you’re considering an Italian “I do,” consider a few fabulous details to layer your property with, much like their generations have done for centuries. I love the look of earthy tones and a palette that appears to be a part of the property when at a venue as special as these! Add great food, great wine, great friends, and maybe even a little Limoncello and you’ve got a recipe for an unforgettable experience!
