Katya and Everett wanted a whimsical beach wedding with vintage touches when they set out to plan their perfect destination wedding. They touched down in Mexico for their final destination as Katya explained the personal significance of the locale to us. “We got engaged in Playa del Carmen on a beach with champagne & strawberries! So it made perfect sense to us to have a destination wedding in Mexico. We chose Los Cabos because we travel there regularly and we wanted our guests to enjoy it a much as we do. And we wanted to have a real party for them!”
“Flowers were special to me, and I loved my bouquet of white tea roses, lisianthus, with accents of peach.”
The couple selected the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort for the spot they would wed. “One aspect I loved about the Hilton resort was we could have a beach ceremony with the sand and the ocean, and then have a garden reception.”
“The dinner was so pretty – a garden set up with floating lanterns on the pool and lots of flowers on the table. There were also pomegranates (my favorite fruit) on the tables.”
“We had a Mexican dessert table with a traditional cookies table and 4 tiers of almond raspberry cake decorated with flowers.”
“I have so many memories but Everett’s surprise for me was very special. He asked our band to learn a Russian song and perform it in Russian as well. The song’s name “Those were the days”. It is a memorable song to us as for one of our anniversaries we went to Teatro Zinzzani in San Francisco and there was a Russian theatrical troupe performing the very same song in both English and Russian.”
“I think my favorite moment was our first dance together on the dance floor over the pool as the sun set. We laughed so much while we danced and we just really had fun!”
“I’ll also never forget launching the wishing lanterns. I always dreamt I would this on my wedding day. It was a magical way to end the night.”
