Modern, tropical with a twist of traditional is what we love about Celine and Charlie’s destination wedding in Mexico!
Charlie and Celine wed at a private villa in Los Cabos, Mexico where they welcomed friends and family for several days for their destination wedding. Be sure to check out their colorful beach welcome BBQ on the blog from yesterday! They wove the color theme throughout the events – focusing on yellow and gold hues to blend nicely with the sand.
We asked the couple to share a bit about their experience with us. To start – how did they select such a stunning location? “It it close to TX and easy for our guests to join us. We wanted to spend a few days by the beach with our guests and have beautiful beach views for pictures.”
To keep with the color palette, the bridesmaids wore bright yellow!
“Think of the weeding pics and how the back ground/colors will compliment the couple and everybody in the wedding party when you pick the hotel/villa. Plan on a couple of trips the months before the wedding to plan all arrangements and make sure that you are on the same page with your wedding planner (make those few trips fun and only arrange for wedding plans/meeting/discussion for 1/2 the day and spend the other half enjoying each other. It will everything go smoother ;-)”
The ceremony overlooked the ocean but was held on the pool deck so no issues of sand on the aisle!
One of the unique elements? “The glass colons holding flowers at halter. We didn’t want to hide the beautiful beach/sea/plan trees in the background.”
“The kiss and walking out of as a married couple was the best moment!”
The dinner reception was designed with one long table for guests. “I wanted the table to be elegant with all white and gold and all the pictures of us 2, to keep that outdoor, breezy romantic feel…”
The bride is French so the food had a french influence to represent her heritage and infuse it into the event.
The bride and groom’s first dance was another highlight for the two of them to remember fondly!
“A little advise for the couple: Take mental brakes every new moments of the wedding day: getting ready, walking in, arriving as a married couple, the cake…etc. We heard so much that it all seems like a blur the day after if you just go through the motion of the time ceremony. We did talked to each other through out the day/night and enjoyed each other and our guests:-) We would not have done it another way!”
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
