We’re headed just south to Mexico for today’s intimate wedding. Kimberly and Dwan chose Playa del Carmen for their destination wedding not simply because it’s beautiful (And, well, who doesn’t want to take a trip to sunny Mexico!?) but because the country was accepting of the same-sex marriage celebration they were looking for. We all know that same-sex marriage is not yet accepted throughout the United States and the conflicting view points on this issue do extend past our borders. But lucky for any of you planning a same-sex destination wedding there’s places like the Palace Resort group that are ready and waiting to help you celebrate! Time to get inspired by Kimberly and Dwan’s oh-so lovely and romantic nuptials, and the photos that Photos In Cancun captured of it!
From Kimberly and Dwan: “The colors that we chose pretty much evolved from wanting a pop color for shoes so that is how we decided to choose the bold purple. We thought that the green and purple would be modern and fun so we went with that and let our bridesmaids pick their own dresses so that they could show their personality and so, hopefully, they would want to wear the dress again! It all came together amazingly, the mix-matched bridesmaid dresses are a unique way to have your wedding party not look so traditional because we had such a fun group and they wanted that to show.”The ceremony was set on a deck overlooking the beautiful coastal view. A modern design was put in place, complete with green orchids and chair ties to flow with their color palette.
What a way to ride off in style!
Before the party got underway, the girls headed down to the sand for some special sunset photos.Despite a few mishaps when finding their destination venue, Palace Resorts ended up being the perfect place not only for their symbolic celebration, but for a mini family vacation, too. In the couple’s own words, “The resort size was perfect, small enough to find everyone and connect during the trip and big enough for those couples who wanted some time for themselves. It brought our family together in a way that no other wedding could, they are already planning a family reunion!”
Congratulations Kimberly and Dwan!
