When you think of a destination wedding in the traditional sense, you may have thought barefoot in the sand beach wedding. Well, that’s not always the case – you could be jet setting to wine country in California or saying “I do” with the Eiffel Tower as your backdrop. But should a more tropical locale be calling your name, there are creative ways to infuse the beach theme into your event with a bit more sophistication than just sand in a glass. Shells typically make for affordable and theme appropriate decor, so today we’re pulling out a few ideas that may be a bit more unique than what you’re used to seeing for a beach wedding. What about a shell chandelier? Or a shell used as the vessel for your floral centerpieces? A shell necklace or bouquet might just be in line with your bridal style! Wherever you weave in these elements, remember – sometimes less is more. Pick one or two key areas to bring in these elements and it won’t overpower your beautiful natural surroundings.

Whether on the sand or in a ballroom overlooking the ocean, pull inspiration from the location you chose. After all, you traveled a long way to enjoy it!
This is so very nice! I’m keeping it in mind should I need it in the future for a niece or grnadchild!
My boyfriend and I are talking about getting married….our favorite place to hang out is the lake. We would love to get married at the beach, but can’t really afford the destination wedding and we would want our church and family there….I love the idea of doing the shell decorations and other beach related theme .
