Italy is certainly in my list of top, top favorite places in the world to celebrate. If bread, wine and cheese are your staple food groups – as they are mine, then Italy might just be the wedding destination for you. So many diverse places to choose from – grand cathedrals in Rome, island resorts in Capri, farmland and private homes in Tuscany, city hotels in Venice, private villas outside of Florence, and more.
I recently stumbled upon this idyllic villa hotel just 40 minutes outside of Venice (on dry land). Historic and oh-so romantic is the Villa Foscarini Cornaro, a 5-star villa hotel built in the 16th century, located in the Veneto region of Italy. With the charm of a private estate and with the amenities of a luxury resort, this venue promises not only fabulous food at your intimate reception, but all you and your guests could want to make your stay glorious without ever leaving your new home. Complete with pool, lounge, bar, nightclub, three restaurants and a stunning rose garden on the grounds, guests will be kept plenty busy if you want to steal away a moment for just the two of you!
But better yet, if you opt to wed in this inviting space, they have more than just great food to offer you. The villa comes complete with an in-house team to assist you with everything you need to make sure none of your wedding needs are lost in translation. Full spa services, hair and makeup, tuxedo rentals, and more are available as you wish!Viva Italia!
When to Go: Early spring is primetime weather for your outdoor I do’s – November being a close second. Summer can get very hot and if shopping is a favorite pastime then avoid August, as much of Italy takes off on holiday and closes up shop.
Travel Tip: Rent a vintage sports car for the day or week and take in the surrounding towns and region – there’s much to do outside of this delicious property.
