One of the newest expansions of the Atlantis Resort is The Cove Atlantis — the swanky tower catering to the couple who wants luxury, a little action by the pool, and the opportunity to explore when they’ve recovered from their nap on the beach. I spent a few days at The Cove recently, and having stayed at the original Atlantis Royal Towers many years before, I found The Cove to be a stunning sensory overload, one with the massive fish tanks and scream-worthy water slides of Atlantis, but with a more grown up air to it.
The pool comes complete with a DJ that could rock Las Vegas. The beach cabanas are appointed with the most kind-hearted butler staff. The hotel rooms are all suites, and a club level option makes happy hour even happier. If you’re looking for a destination wedding that includes plenty of downtime and relaxation, but also various activities and options to keep guests of all ages entertained, then The Cove Atlantis could be just the ticket.
Of all the towers, this is where I recommend the newlyweds or about-to-be-weds stay. But if the price tag is a bit out of budget for your friends and family, there are plenty of other options on property. The Reef is ideal for parents who want the best of both worlds – luxury for them and their kids. The Royal Towers are great for the single girlfriends or guy friends planning a night out at Nobu before hitting the casino and club. And the original Coral Tower building is perfect for the budget-conscious guest who really made the effort to make it, but finds that the other towers might be a bit out of reach. All guests can enjoy all the properties have to offer – countless pools, enormous aquariums with sharks, fish, and the biggest rays I’ve ever seen, and of course the beautiful Caribbean beaches (yes, there are more than one). The waterpark offers a lazy river, some intense water slides (not for the faint of heart), watersports, and of course some R&R for mom and dad while the kids (or kids at heart) play.
If you’re looking for a property with lots of event spaces, this is ideal too! You could swim with the dolphins by day (I highly recommend it) and host a welcome party overlooking their home by night. Coming later this year, you’ll be able to wed in their soon-to-be-built chapel, or of course opt for a beach wedding befitting of the Bahamas. For your reception, go inside for a formal affair, tent one of sparling lawn spaces, say “I do” under the stars next to the stingrays or host a swanky city-like rehearsal dinner at one of their famed restaurants.
The Cove Atlantis is ideal for that couple that wants a bit more excitement in their wedding weekend, but loves the idea of incorporating the beauty the Caribbean has to offer!
Thanks to Anna and her amazing team for such a special visit to such a special property!!! I will be back!
