You’re invited to travel to the United Kingdom with us today, for a picturesque destination wedding in Bath. Katherine, whose family is from England, and Matthew, a former professional baseball player, knew England was the perfect destination for their classic wedding. A healthy dose of elegance, a few nods to English style, and More Than an Image Photography’s photos that captured it all have us traveling back in time, to a quaint day on the English countryside.
Before we got to the “I do’s” and dancing, let’s start with the day before. Katherine held a welcoming bridal brunch at The Pump Room overlooking the Roman baths the English city is famous for. How fantastic!? Later, the families and guests gathered for the rehearsal dinner at an intimate wine shop where hors d’oureves were displayed amongst wine barrels and the couple honored both their fathers with custom cufflinks.
Despite a few mishaps crossing through customs, on the wedding day a ladybug landing on Katherine’s dress ensured that plenty of good luck was in store! Both men and women brought English fashion favorites to the day. How much do you love those top hats and fascinators!?
When you wed in a city as beautiful as Bath, you have to take advantage of it for some romantic couple shots! Katherine and Matthew headed to the open countryside as well as the Royal Crescent, a strip of notable homes and buildings with their original facades (dating back to the 1700s!), for theirs.
Their reception took place at The Bath Priory, a luxurious hotel and spa, where guests enjoyed a meal prepared by award winning chef Michael Caines.
The newlyweds couldn’t have a destination wedding without making a few small tributes to their home back across the pond. A groom’s cake decked out in St. Louis Cardinal motifs (Matthew’s former team) and s’mores as a midnight snack took care of that!
In between the great food and friends, lots of dancing went well into the night!
And with that, and a sparkler exit, the couple was off to their honeymoon in Paris! A true European destination weddingdream.
