Sarah and Robby wed in the small town of Puerto Morelos, Mexico, just outside of Cancun on the Caribbean Sea. The two selected the Azul Beach Hotel by Karisma for their destination “I do” and found that the Villa Carola fit their family needs perfectly. Sarah shared with us their plans. “We selected the Villa Carola because we wanted to have a place where all our friends and family would be able to gather before and after each event. The mood we wanted to set for the wedding was upscale, and intimate. We wanted to make sure that we didn’t have the typical destination wedding but something rather classy and private. The Azul Beach where our guests stayed was next door to the villa, and fully equipped for all the kids – which was an important factor when choosing the hotel. Azul surpassed our expectations and accommodated our every need. Since the Villa was attached to the hotel our guest could come and go to the villa as they pleased.”
Sarah is such a stunning bride who infused her Indian heritage with her wedding while working in traditional American inspiration too. But before we get to that, can we just take a minute to pause at her jewelry and wardrobe!?! To die for amazing! Gorgeous!
Someone’s hamming it up for the camera (and it isn’t the bride)!
“The whole wedding was customized to our personal and religious needs. Robby being of Indian culture and I being Jewish Moroccan wanted to incorporate our different cultures into our wedding. We Hosted a Bollywood night at the villa, completely decorated with colored fabrics, pillows, candles, tablecloths, henna etc. I brought all the decorations from home, some I bought, and some I had made. They served a full Indian meal, which the Hotel organized for us. We also had Indian movies projected on the walls of the villa by the pool, where the party took place.”
Most memorable moment for the couple? “The moment we saw each other on the steps at the villa.”
To add to the guest experience, no detail was overlooked or too small to be personalized to this couple! “We even had a magazine made with unique facts about Rob and I, pictures of the resort and useful information for the guests. We also included some fun pictures of our guests. ALL our friends and family came and made the week of festivities unforgettable. We are lucky because we didn’t get one day, but seven days of festivities and fun.”
The bride also recalls that special tradition of walking down the aisle with her dad. “One of the most memorable moments was when I walked down the aisle in my dad’s arms knowing my mom wasn’t there to see me.”
Infusing multiple cultures into their wedding, they even participated in a sand ceremony!
“The Last Night we hosted a Full Shabbat dinner at the villa. Chef Pierre (Azul Beach head chef) prepared the most amazing kosher Moroccan meal. The men prayed, the women lit the candles. Nothing was missing. We also had kosher wine flown in for all the events to accommodate our guests.”
And clearly a good time was had by all!
Congratulations Robby and Sarah!
