Stephanie and Michael said I do in Los Cabos, Mexico surrounded by loved ones and a cheery design to celebrate within! This blushing bride shared their big day details and how it came to be.
“Michael and I first met in San Francisco over three years ago in the most unlikeliest of places — an introductory speed reading class! As I was leaving the class, he stopped the elevator doors from closing to talk to me, walked me downtown, and we have been inseparable ever since.”
So when it was time to tie the knot, why Los Cabos? “One of our favorite trips as a couple was to Los Cabos, Mexico, where we immediately fell in love with the gracious people, amazing views, and relaxed atmosphere. We both always wanted a destination wedding – an entire weekend with our closest family and friends, celebrating our love and the start of our lives together. Los Cabos provided the perfect destination without being too far from home.”
“We knew we wanted an outdoor wedding in an intimate setting, which meant having a summer wedding at a small, private venue. We decided to have our wedding at the hacienda-style Villa Vista Ballena. From the Spanish tiled roof to the handmade Mexican art and décor, it truly captured the local culture. However, what we loved most about the villa were the panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez, which would ultimately become the backdrop to our ceremony and reception.”
“Because the location and venue were already so breathtaking, we decided to keep the decor simple, yet elegant. We chose light muted colors accented with bright indigenous sunflowers to complement the unique beach and desert scenery of the Baja peninsula.”
“Our wedding planner, Rachel Hansen of Infinity Weddings, did an amazing job taking care of all the details, allowing us to fully enjoy and appreciate each special moment as the day went on.”
“Our favorite memories are the vows we wrote, the amazing speeches, and the relaxed, yet excited energy of the crowd throughout the evening. Between the open bar and the great music by DJ Ricardo, we had everyone partying on the dance floor and, by the end of the night, dancing in the pool! It was a beautiful night under the stars with all of the people we care about most in the world – one that we will never forget.”
