European Destination Wedding Place Cards

I love a themed place card or escort card.  I think it’s those tiny little details that add up to major impact and give your guests something to talk about as they get to know one another.  If you’re hosting a beach wedding, we’ve got great ideas for fun in the sun and on paper for your place cards, but today we’re talking about a destination wedding that’s a bit more muted – perhaps a European destination wedding or one in a countryside of a neighboring state.  Wherever you wed, consider weaving the theme into your place cards and dazzle guests with everything from a split of vino in Italy to a tiny porcelain pig (or cochon if you’re off to France).  Even a baguette serves dual purpose now as a possible place card (and snack)!

Saying “oui” to Paris?  These faux macarons make excellent bridal shower place cards or a nice embellishment to a garden party wedding.  Or perhaps you’ve selected a beautifully manicured garden in London?  A mini topiary might just be the perfect fit!

Who doesn’t love their own personal bottle of wine when they walk in the door?!?!  Serve your guests a split of a local wine from the region in which you wed and let it double as a place card and favor for the end of the night!

Maybe you’re finding your inspiration from history and the beautiful paintings in the nearby museums of the country where you will say “I do.”  Look up historical artists from that locale and create a canvas inspired by the past that serve as place cards in your future.

And you can’t go wrong with a lace look by placing a doily beneath a glass plate for guests who are searching for their specific seat.
