Blush Pink + Gray Destination Wedding Overlooking Cabo San Lucas

Mariana and Mark tied the knot in a beautiful Oceanside destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The location had a special meaning for the pair, who shared their big day behind-the-scenes with us!

Cabo was the very first trip we took together.  We really connected on that trip and on the last day there Mark asked me to be his girlfriend! From then on Cabo always held a special place in our hearts. We also liked the idea of getting married by the ocean (we also got engaged by the ocean in Cancun) and thought it would be a great vacation place for all of our guests to enjoy.

The ocean was a big inspiration for our decor. Both our ceremony and reception were by the ocean so we wanted our guests to feel like they were in Mexico at an elegant party by the ocean. Our wedding planner and photographer also showed us a lot of great ideas to choose from.

We had a chuppah with flowers and the ocean as a backdrop for the ceremony. The colors of our wedding were silver, light pink, and ivory. We wanted a soft elegant feel.

Favorite moments for the couple? We have many of them but our ultimate two favorite moments are 1. When we got to ride the horse carriage!  I felt like a princess with my prince, and 2. the fireworks!! They were so spectacular and no one was expecting them to be as grand as they were.  Both the horse carriage and the fireworks were surprises for the guests! No one knew about them, not even our parents!

For cocktail hour we had margaritas and a full mariachi band to get the fun started. As centerpieces we had flowers submerged in water which looked beautiful.

One of our favorites that we had a lot of fun with was our cake topper; we had bobble heads made that looked just like us!

We asked the bride and groom for their advice for other destination couples: Our advice would be to find a great wedding planner and photographer who will bring your vision to life.  Send out save the dates at least 6 months in advance and invitations at least 3 months in advance so that guests can plan their trip accordingly. If possible, make a couple of trips to your destination location so that you can plan things with your planner and visualize the concepts. Also, enjoy tastings of the amazing food and cake! (we went to Cabo about 3-4 times before the big day).
