Cinco De Mayo Inspired Weddings

Aye Ya Yay! (Cue mariachi band) It’s almost Cinco de Mayo, and you know what that means: Mexican themed weddings! So generally this is a Mexican holiday that celebrates the Mexican revolution, but here in the states its all about the margaritas and tequila shots… Sorry Mexico. But today, we are sharing some fun and colorful inspiration for a Cinco de Mayo themed wedding that would make them proud!

What I love about the Mexican culture is definitely the colors, unique materials, and hand painted pottery they use in decorations. They also have lovely exotic flowers! To start off your Cinco de Mayo wedding, incorporate lots of colors. One decorative element that is signature to Mexico and perfect for showing off your colors are fiesta garlands! They are those strings of cool flags made of paper or even thin fabric, if you want to get real authentic. These usually have some sort of ornate pattern stenciled/cut out of the square’s area (take a look below!) As for entertainment, you can’t forget the Mariachi bands; they will provide such a true Mexican atmosphere at the reception you’ll feel like you’re actually in Mexico, with all the decorations in place! Finally, the flowers. There are plenty of beautiful and colorful flowers native to the country (perfect if you’re plan to have a destination wedding in Mexico!) Place full and luscious arrangements throughout the reception along with adorable hand painted figurines and other traditional Mexican goods, and you’ll have a perfect Cinco de Mayo inspired wedding celebration!

Have fun planning this one and “Felicidades!”
