Ramy and Frida traveled to Sweden for their unique destination wedding at the beautiful castle of Tjolöholms Slott. If this castle looks familiar to you, it’s because it is! The location is also where the sci-fi movie Melancholia staring Kirsten Dunst and Kiefer Sutherland was recently filmed. But that wasn’t the reason these love birds selected the venue. When Frida was a child, she had visited the castle and pretended to wear a wedding dress running off to marry her prince. So it was perfectly fitting that once she found her grown up prince charming, they would return here to say “I do!”
Frida and Ramy went with a traditional color palette, as Frida explained. “We chose the white theme for purity. We wanted the whole wedding to be a thanksgiving to God for all that He has done in our lives.”
Their wedding photographer, David Blair shared with us the magic of this location. “The ceremony took place in an old stone church and was followed quickly by a cocktail hour just outside the castle. The stunning view from the courtyard of the ocean and outlying islands made an exceptional background for this elegant celebration.”
In attendance at this very special event were friends and family members from several different continents. Languages from all over the world were spoken at this feast and festive gathering!
For the intimate dinner reception, the couple relied on friends for some extra assistance. “The wedding planner provided by the Castle helped manage the whole event but we also had four wedding hosts (in Swedish culture, the bride/grooms close friends act a wedding planners/hosts and actually run the wedding).”
Congratulations Newlyweds!
