Angela and Gavin held their tropical wedding at the Olowalu Plantation House on the beautiful island of Maui. This charming property features a spacious oceanfront lawn, surrounded by tall palms, where the couple said their “I do”s with the sound of the waves crashing in the background. The vibe was laid-back and boho, with a colourful palette of yellow, orange, pink and green. The Maui destination wedding also included lots of locally inspired Hawaiian touches, right down to the adorable greenery lei worn by the couple’s dog (and VIP guest). It was truly a celebration to remember – island style! The couple’s photographer, Naomi Levit Photography, shared a bit more about their big day with us.

Fresh coconuts, tropical garland tablescapes, and sage place cards. The details behind Angela and Gavin’s Olowalu Plantation Wedding captured the local flare of Maui to their make guests feel the power of aloha. And, they certainly did so, by welcoming guests with a Hawaiian coconut station, curated by The Catered Coconut, and lush centerpieces featuring large proteas on their alfresco reception tables.

The goal of their wedding day was not to make a statement or be unique, Angela and Gavin simply desired a day filled with their personalities in a relaxed, fun setting. With the aid of Bliss Wedding Design event planners, they were able to host a backyard-style affair in hues of pink, orange and yellow for their closet family and friends.

One of the smartest things Angela and Gavin felt that they did was staying near the plantation to make their wedding day more seamless and lovely. They were able to relax, spending the morning going for a swim and playing on the lawn before the day’s festivities began. They truly felt that they were having a special night with their best friends at their home, which just so happened to be on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
